 How to cook lentil soup


Ingredients:

A cup or two of yellow or brown lentils

2 medium sized onions, chopped

4 garlic cloves, mashed

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tomatoes, chopped

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup mint leaves, chopped

How to prepare:

1- Wash the lentils well with water (the water should not be hot)

2- Place the lentils in a large pot over low heat, and add the water.

3- Let the lentils boil, then reduce the heat and let them cook for 30 or 40 minutes, or until they are completely cooked.

4- While the lentils are cooking, heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over low heat

5- Add the onion and garlic and stir for 5 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent.

6- Add the tomatoes, cumin, black pepper, and salt and stir for three or four minutes.

7- Add the onion and tomato mixture to the pot with the lentils.

8- Leave the soup to boil for 5 minutes, then add mint leaves as desired

Thus the dish is ready to be served

advice:

You can serve toasted bread, put it in lentil soup, and eat it together
